My man of 2 1/2 years and I broke up the week before graduation, and his reasoning on why we should break up was that the communication on his part had gone down (which was true) and that his "love for me had decreased gradually over the last few months." I was like WTF is that supposed to mean, and he says that evry time he said "I love you" over the last 6 months (including the night of my b-day, valentines, prom nite, etc.) was all a lie.
Now I would like to know what makes a guy say this to his girl, and have you ever said anything to your girl and why.

its happened to me before... like as the relationship progressed, our communication was actually regressing, and i was starting to feel as we were growing apart. the only times we would talk is when she was upset about something and a few other instances- i would never lie 2 anyone who i professed 2 be going with, so i flat out told her that my love for her was dying. her response was similar to yours, except for the fact she threatened suicide if i broke up with her. she didnt do it, but that whole suicide episode made me REALLY not wanna get back with her.
