Question about the Down Low
I got a question for everyone, honest opinions is what I 'm looking for, for a research paper. I'm not asking for ya'll to do the paper, I'm just asking for opinions to help assist me in my paper.
Do you think the passing of a constitutional amendment forbidding same sex marriages will have an affect on the African American community and the "down low" problem?
I ask this because one reason for many black men being on the down low is because being a homosexual is highly regarded in the black community as unacceptable; making them secretive. The passing of the amendment is further stating that their behavior and lifestyle is not acceptable. I understand that people will respond to this question out of religious beliefs and other values, I respect this completely. When responding think about the down low situation as it is now, the reason for it (social and religious history), and it's relationship with HIV and AIDS in the black community.
