A "Perfect Proposal"
Need help executing a truly romantic and memorable wedding proposal? Tuskegee University veterinary medicine professional school student Ian Moore did.
“I wanted to do something special; something she could cherish,” said Moore.
Moore, of Brewton, Al. and his fiancée Rashida Horton, also a Tuskegee veterinary medicine professional school student from Oak Park, MI, will be featured in the TLC channel’s reality show “Perfect Proposal.” The show is scheduled to air June 20 at 11:00 AM EST.
The show helps grooms-to-be execute romantic, surprise perfect proposals.
“Rashida and I used to watch this show during our lunch break,” said Moore when asked how he heard of the show. “Then I then started wondering how can I get on the show? So I went to the Internet and filled out an application and about three weeks later I received a call.”
Moore continued.
“You know what's real funny... I was in the car with Rashida when I got the call from the show’s producers. I was trying to hide who I was talking to but I know she was probably wondering who I was on the phone with.”
Moore also stated that reality T.V. isn’t like what you see on television.
“When you watch television you normally don’t see the cameras but we shot for three days and there was a camera around all the time. By day three I was definitely tired of the camera.
Moore said he never even thought of having a back up plan if she said no.
“I had a good feeling about this one,” Moore said with a chuckle.
The couple says the show helped them revisit old memories of their relationship that brought them together. They recommend that every couple take time out of their schedules and write down their relationship’s history. They also stated that they didn’t receive prize money to be on the show but the experience itself was priceless.
The show is hosted by Nikki Boyer, an Emmy-award winning television host, whose career has spanned many genres — from television and film to dance and music. Boyer has also reported on news and entertainment for a TV station in St. Louis, earning both an Emmy and Telly awards for her work. For five years, she was the lead vocalist in a pop/funk band and continues to sing with her acoustic rock band, The Spirit Theory, and her pop act, Nikki B.
