Default Hampton Alums Make It Happen With New Online Media Network

EMQ Network (EMQ - The Black College Culture and Lifestyle Network) is launching as the first online media network showcasing the African American college lifestyle.

EMQ Network and its online platform EMQtv is the first comprehensive media network to target a growing market of African American current college students, prospective college students and alumni. The network uses life centric programming and entertainment to reach this market packaged in its interactive content, broadband channel, news content, and user-generated content.

EMQ services the 2.4 million plus African-Americans who are in college and the 3.5 million graduates who are under 35, as well as millions of college students that experience and are influenced by African-American culture through music, bands, Greek life, fashion and sports, can enjoy EMQ too.

EMQ Network offers a unique and refreshing alternative in a multi-marketing environment with opportunities for key sponsorships and partnerships to reach this collegiate centered market. The founders Antonio Hawthorne, Darrian Mack, and Erin Young all graduates of Hampton University, have first hand knowledge of this unique market and understand the needs and wants of this community.

They leveraged their collegiate experience and business knowledge to create a media platform that accurately spoke to this distinctive community. Co-founder Darrian Mack states,“EMQtv.com was long needed, no other media outlet was paying attention to this college community, no one else was telling our story, no one was connecting to us.”

EMQ Network connects to the audience using a content mix that is derived from endless experiences from music to bands, Greek life, relationships, fashion, freshman life, roommate problems, homecoming activities and much more; topics that everyone in this market can relate to.

Visitors of the site are not limited by just viewing content; they can also be active members of the EMQtv.com family joining MyEMQ, the site’s social networking community. There they can set up profiles, upload audio, video, photos, and even participate in contests.

EMQ Networks and EMQ brand is an interactive media company that consists of EMQtv.com, myEMQ, OnCampus Broadband Channel and EMQNews. EMQ is the first and only interactive media company that specializes in broadband content for and about current and perspective African American college students and alumni; centered on their lifestyle and their collegiate experiences in a highly entertaining and engaging format. EMQ will provide a new voice to this market and is dedicated to portraying a positive and accurate view of the African American collegiate experience and lifestyle that is often misrepresented and negatively characterized by mainstream media. To date EMQ's web broadband video assets has generated over 1,000 Gigabytes in downloads and streams. EMQ Networks powers, BlackGreek.TV, a user generated content site for the Black Greek community. EMQ positions itself for growth by expanding its college lifestyle concept into other platforms and its reach into other ethnicities and international opportunities, positioning EMQ for unprecedented growth in the college lifestyle category. EMQ Networks is a division of E-Mackqulent, LLC.
