Toni Morrisson
Shes is far from being shallow with her writing and everytime i read one of her books over again i always find something new out.....especially in beloved and she does not take her words for granted in her writing
shes very symbolic with every detail in her writing and she doesnt write just for the heck of it but to appeal to a rare side of the audience which makes them hunger for truth while reading ....
She has wrote Beloved , the bluest eyes, paradise, love, tar baby, songs of solomon, jazz and sula.
Beloved is definitely my favorite out of the bunch.
paradise and beloved are in my personal library

good questions

Who is your favorite author ?
Eric Jerome Dickey

What makes him stand out from the rest ?
He can get into women's minds and bring his characters to life . His stories are very interesting and you really have to pay attention to details early in the story because something that you overlook and think is not significant in the beginning can become the main point in the end . I can never tell where one of his books are going to go but I'm always pleasantly surprised . His characters are very diverse . Some books are about ordinary people , some are about thieves and criminals . And as a little added bonus he incorporates main characters from one book as extras in other books .

What books have they written ?
Sleeping With Strangers
Waking With Enemies
Chasing Destiny
Genevieve
Drive Me Crazy
Naughty or Nice
The Other Woman
Thieves' Paradise
Milk in my Coffee
Sister , Sister
Liar's Game
Between Lovers
Friends and Lovers
Cheaters

Which one is your favorite ?
I liked them all ! Some started off a little slow but got better towards the end . But I think that my favorite would have to be Chasing Destiny because there were so many twists and surprises .

Which ones are in your personal library ?
I have all the ones I named , except for maybe Sister , Sister ; I can't remember if I read that one or not .

Who is your favorite author? (Choose only one author) That's so haaaard!
But...it's:
Lemony Snicket.

What makes them stand out from the rest to you? The pseudonym: Lemony Snicket. Plus, the series a serious McGuyver theme that I thought was pretty awesome.
What book(s) have they written? A Series Of Unfortunate Events 1-13.
Which one(s) have you read?
All of them.
Which one is your favorite? Chapter 12: The Ersatz Elevator.
Which ones are in your personal library? The entire series. (Thank you, Barnes and Noble!)

bell hooks

Why? Because she is a genius. She educates, challenges and captivates me. Her writing style is bold, concrete and articulate. Her work has been a significant part of my intellectual and political development of over the last 8 years. She is my mentor.

She has written about 35 books. Of those 35 or so I've read:

We Real Cool: Black Men and Masculinity
Yearning: Race, Gender, and Cultural Politics Rock My Soul: Black People and Self-esteem
Feminist Theory: From Margin to Center
Breaking Bread: Insurgent Black Intellectual Life
Black Looks: Race and Representation
Talking Back: Thinking Feminist, Thinking Black
Killing Rage: Ending Racism
Ain't I a woman?: Black Women and Feminism - My all time favourite book.
Where We Stand: Class Matters
Bone Black: Memories of Girlhood - The first of her books that I read at 13
As well as a number of articles.
