Well the last time I went to a book store I saw many books about different things written by black authors. Again its what you pick up...but there is a nice variety out there.

When we were taking nominations for June book club readings folks named a bunch of good books...that weren't the usual...sex, drugs, thug luv stuff.

I go to Karibu Books which is a black bookstore so it has every type of black book you can imagine or they'll order it for you. I went to Barnes and Nobles yesterday and noticed the relatively small section they have which was filled with your average stuff or the classics of Black Literature. They did have one mystery...but I'm not into mysteries period so I overlooked. I know the general storyline but don't know the title or author.

An interesting book that I liked was "When Chickenheads Come To Roost: Memoirs of a Hip Hop Feminist (<<<----not sure about that part) by Tracey Morgan I believe. It talks about how she became a feminist...her explanation of her unique type of feminism...black love and relationships....the myth of the "superwoman". It was a good read to me. I think reading people's philosophies, black love/romance, and the classics.

I read that a month ago and it was pretty good. But The response i was looking for was more on the lines of well writen fiction(oops just noticed that mistake .. . had to go back and edit) genres
