Thanks, i used to read Bebe Moore Campbell when I was in the 8-9th grade. I liked her a lot. . . . but i don't know if I would feel the same about her writing today. I've heard great things about J.D Mason, so I do plan on getting those.

I guess I general I just adhere to the old flavor of things.....that's how I feel about music and movies as well. So a majority if today's black authors I discredit. But I saw some titles below and I guess I will look into them.

If they whack, I am whoopin' somebody's ace!! Ain't nuttin' worse than reading something that somebody esle said was "good".

I can't agree with yall on this bullshit author stuff. Because to me there is no such thing. There are different types of writing styles for different people. I personally LOVE Eric Jerome Dickey and Zane. So I do take a lil offense to people calling them bullshit writers. Excuse me for not liking what u call literature. I feel that everyone likes something different...so there are different authors with different styles to cater to their needs. I'm not taking this to the heart too much. How can u label a form of writing bullshit?

I agree wit my girl Kathy, nothing is bullsh*t if people are getting something out of it, such as the suspense, drama, etc. That is why I read them. Don't tell me what I like is bullsh*t, just say u can't relate to it. And as someone stated, these are not THE ONLY book out there, u just gotta search a lil more

Plus the time period has changed, people are gonna write about what this generation can relate to more. I say just search a lil harder for the type of book u like, and u will find it
