The Beach House is THE summer read of 2005

If you haven’t heard by now, Kenny Blue is making some serious noise with his debut novel, The Beach House. This is quickly shaping up as THE summer read of 2005. Kenny was the feature and cover author in the January issue of Atlanta’s Booking Matters magazine, and has cracked the best selling list of Rolling Out magazine and several independent booksellers. Kenny has also cracked the top 50,000 on Amazon.com, a major accomplishment for a self-published novel. His novel is centered around six Atlanta marketing associates and one explosive weekend at a Florida beach house. He is currently available for interviews through August 2005. Below is a synopsis.

Felicia Sampson is an overachieving workaholic attempting to find balance between her professional and personal life. When she and her co-worker Kym Kersey are unexpectedly asked to lead a team of fellow minorities at their firm in creating a last-minute marketing plan for a major client, intriguing challenges arise.

After their boss forces them out of their comfortable Atlanta office complex, and hands them the keys to an acquaintances beach house, a clever tale of envy, lies, lust, and betrayal unfolds. The pressure of a seventy-two hour deadline sets the drama, which begins simmering in Florida’s sun drenched panhandle and boils over on the sands, as old alliances are broken and new ones are formed. Bitter rivals face off, and secrets are exposed. Will teamwork and camaraderie prevail? Or will the alluring tropical setting cause them to lose sight of why they are there in the first place?

By the end of the weekend, Felicia and her co-workers are forced to deal with each other and their own imperfections, but at what cost? If there is a lesson to be learned, it is that business and pleasure can be mixed, but at your own risk. Welcome to The Beach House, the debut novel by Atlanta author Kenny Blue that will burn in readers’ memories long after they’ve completed the last page.

The Beach House may be ordered through Baker & Taylor. Kenny Blue is currently available for interviews, through August 2005. For more information, please visit www.kennyblue.com.
