I ran into this situation a few times. It reminds me of a child who does not want to play with a particular toy until another child decides they want to play with it. Then, the first child becomes agitated, not because they want the toy, but because they don't want anyone else to play with it. Almost like some, "just in case ****." I might decide I want to play later. :P
