There are Black men who pursue White women because they see them as submissive. Some are, but the ones that I have encountered are just as opinionated, but less vocal on it.
There are Black and Hispanic women who go after older White dudes looking for a sugar daddy, and many younger ones who only pursue them because they are believed to be more stable.
It is because of all of this ignorance that truly authentic interracial relationships are criticized... there are so many people using it as an excuse to try to avoid finding someone undesirable that even decent relationships come into question. I don't think there's anything wrong with dating interracially, but doing it exclusively to obtain a perceived benefit is plain ignorant. Holla!

he's absolutely right, the stereotypes and cliches take away from the beauty of interracial relationships but unfortunately we have stereotypes with or without addnig the race factor. ill add more later

I was caught in a decision a while ago when I was dating my ex... My dad took me to this Greek restaurant and we sat down (I think I had turned 17?) and we talked about my white girlfriend and he was like "Son, why cant you just get you a good black woman?" and at first I was like "Well, I havent found any yet."
Retracted that statement.
Then said, "I have a certain style that very little can mesh with even if they see me as compatabile from afar. She just happens to be everything I could want a need right now and it has nothing to do with her race." Dad sat back as the Gyros came and we both said grace before he looked outside to see a round-assed woman walk by the window, a mighty specimen. I looked up too, gave the booty my seal of approval (a simple nod) and I went back to dissecting my food.
Dad was like, "Son, do you believe that a White Woman can give you something that a Black Woman cant?" "No! Hell naw dad, no, its not that. I dont see things like you or Donna do. I just look for a woman who is selfish with me and keeps me close to her heart unlike anyone else. Someone who I can trust every word she can say and she does the same for me and whenever her girlfriends get jealous and lie to her she'll come and ask me about the situation before setting my things on fire." "See Son, thats a stereotype you have about black women - that theyll set your clothes on fire."
We both paused to laugh.
"Okay," Dad started, eating on his food and pausing before starting again. "Maybe youve dealt with alot more attitude then you are used to, but she can relate to you better than any White Woman can." "Maybe, maybe not. Not everyone had to struggle because of their skin and my girlfriend had to go through weeks of being "detoxed" because she was a Russian citizen. Theyve seen more than even I have, so she appreciates everything...I think its one of her more admirable traits. Plus she has a vicious mind for debate and just speaking."
Dad nodded, chuckling at me under his eyelids. "Well, if she makes you happen I suppose you can bring her home. Be warned, youll still get joked on." "I know Dad...you people have no shame."
(just felt that convo pretty much shaped my opinions. Im more swayed towards people that are ACTUALLY down to earth.)

My boyfriend is white, and sometimes I forget that we are different races.... until someone reminds us likes it is a bad thing.

I think it's just a changing society. Other races are startin to date a lot more, such as asian and white, white and hispanic, etc etc. Thing is, it will always be a sensitive issue in the black community. Whenever a black dude sees a black girl with a white guy he's like "that foo must be simpin wit her, buyin her everything she want and probably ain't gettin none." And black females still see a black dude with a white girl and say that they can't handle a black woman and they are not good enough for them, etc. etc.
I don't really think it's anything wrong with it, unless they hook up for the wrong reasons. But I still hope to find a black woman, and I don't really eye females of other races. I might say "dam she look kinda good for a white girl" but it stops there. Now if I just end up talkin to somebody who's not black and end up havin feelings for em, I'm not gonna reject em just because they aren't black, but I just relate a lot better to black females in general.

this is great b/c i think that a lot of times black women never get to actually hear the explanation behind interracial dating ya mean? I've never even heard some of these arguements and I think its good b/c a lot of people are ignorant when it comes to interracial dating. Me myself, I don't have a problem with dating white guys or any guy who isnt black just as long as he respects me and vice versa.

I always have and always will prefer black men...but you never know who God has planned for you and who you may fall in love. So I am very open minded about interracial relationships...
