Ladies when you think of ur ideal magazine what would it include in it.....fashion tips, hair advice, skin tips, cooking tips...what??? What are you dissapointed in when u are sometimes reading your favorite magazine??
shoot, i hate the bargain section some mags supposedly have. they list "great buys" but still expect you to pay $25+ for a tshirt. i'm about to be a college freshman, and would like to know about places to purchase REAL bargains. thrift stores & vintage shops yadadamean?
I like stories about real women. The celebrity stories and celebrity covers sell magazines, but I want to read about women that I can relate to. I would much prefer to hear about how a working mother lost 25 pounds that how Oprah hired a gourmet chef, dietician, and physical trainer to help her loose weight.

Yet if I could do it all over again, I'd do it in the same skin I'm in. To lay down and let love die, Just stay down and let love lie, No, no, not I. I'll stay 'round and let love fly, Even though I have seen its darkest form, deceit. Nothing else could taste this warm or feel this sweet.
I think it would be nice if there was a magazine that went all over the country and actually did REAL women stories, such as...
FOR EXAMPLE: A woman (pick her race & age here) in a suburban or rural city has overcome many obstacles using her wits or her intelligence, or both to get to where she is. It maybe that she was homeless, now she is a donut shop owner or maybe she was on welfare and food stamps, and now she she working at DSS helping others out that was in her position. I mean, stories like that, can really relate to people and inspire them, AND they REALLY exist.

if i went to the magazine section in wal mart all the magazines. for blacks are either hair magazines, about rappers with a big booty chick on the cover, or focused towards middle aged black woman, i think there should be a magazine for young, black , talented woman with tips we could actually use because seventeen magazine dont know nothing about nappy hair or makeup for our complexion****i just typed black magazines in yahoo..they suggested i search black hair magazines****
THE PERFECT MAGAZINE THAT CATERED TO "WOMEN OF COLOR" NOT JUST AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN WAS THE SPINOFF OF ESSENCE MAGAZINE CALLED "SUEDE". It was an amazing colorful magazine marketed towards the free-spirited, electic, urban-chic Women of Color that love Bebe, Chanel, MaC, Jimmy Choo. Not as 'Corporate' as Essence per say. It was not overly preppy, prissy, or too mature (in regards to married women). It was an all around awesome magazine that was discontinued apparently because SUEDE was not expecting such an enormous response and they were not well prepared for the demands of this booming mag. It was a hit. I'm not sure if you can find any information about Suede on Google but try. No one knows if they will be back but hungry fans are awaiting. Nothing thus far compares to it.
