Who are you to tell me, when to speak or be quiet?
Who are you to insist that I starve myself and dye it?
Who are you to say that I am not good enough?
Who are you to think that my struggle is not rough?
Who are you to persecute me for not meeting your standards?
Who are you to label, stereotype and brand me?
Who are you that I should watch what I do and where?
Who are you that I should even wonder, worry or care?
Who are you to say that I am not of American descent?
Who are you to think that my being was not meant?
Who are you to be my judge, my jury and executioner?
Who are you to say that my presence is so impure?
Who are you to compare me to what you think I should be,
Who are you to scold and tongue lash me for just being me
Who are you to say that I am not educated?
Who are you to say that racism has faded?
Who are you to get me this angry that I should vent
Who are you to say where I will lay my head and pay rent
Who are you to make my life here such living hell.
Who are you to keep suppressing me, by keeping me in jail?
Who are you to say that I cannot be president?
Who are to say that I am not self- evident
Who are you to say that I don't know who I am?
Who are you that when I flow free like raging rivers, you build dams.
Who are you to pay me minimum wage and monitor my pockets
Who are you that when I am having some fun, you stop it?
Who are you that you think that it's right for you to do this to me.
I think that you are someone who is unaware of my capabilities.
