I don't know if I'm tha only one that doesn't know this.....but I've always wondered where tha hell tha names Dick and Pussy came from????

I mean Dick is nothing like Penis....and Pussy is nothing like Vigina.....what up wit that?.....just my 2 cents......

Pussy as a slang term for the female pudenda is thought to derive ultimately from Low German puse "vulva" or Old Norse puss "pocket, pouch". It didn't arise in English with a sexual meaning until the 19th century, but prior to that it had been used to refer to women in general (16th century). It has since also come to mean "effeminate, feeble, or homosexual men or boys" (20th century).

All Im getting for Dick is the nickname for Richard. Perhaps at some point in Britian a guy name Richard spent all his time trying to get some, and then it got around so Dick stuck

dick - "fellow, lad, man," 1553, rhyming nickname for "Richard," one of the commonest Eng. names, it has long been a synonym for "fellow," and so most of the slang senses are probably very old, but naturally hard to find in the surviving records. The meaning "penis" is attested from 1891 in British army slang; dickhead "stupid person" is from 1969.
