Whats good my fellow HBCU students. I am from Fayetteville North Carolina but i am currently attending school here in Sumter South Carolina at Morris College. This was not my first choice of schools, hell I am suprised I made it this far. Due to my low GPA, this was the only school I applied for and therefore the only school that accepted me. My heart although belongs to NCA&T. This is my dream. I know close to 20 people that attend that school and I hear nothing but good things about it. i underatnd that every school has its bad days and its problems but I cant imagine any other school like Morris. We dont have coed dorms, we have 12 o'clock weekday and 2:30 weekend curfews, no football team, no band, the school is the size of my high school, freshman cant drive, and the city of Sumter is extremely boring. I plan on transferring next year after I pledge in the spring semester. Someone please reply with some hope for me, because I need something good to look at right now. Please reply with some information about A&T and about other HBCU schools.
Well you know 21 AGGIES now. i am thrilled that you would like to attend A&T. As an Ambassador, telecounselor, senator, and student, I would like to say welcome and we hope you come. I definately know how it is with the low GPA in high school. I was a straight jock, and I am thankful to this day for being accepted to the few schools that I was. There are quite a few down sides to being an AGGIE
1. constant haters (UNC, NCCU, all other NC HBCU's)
2. parking
3. constant construction
4. too many distractions (clubs, females, events, G-boro period)
5. Crazy stupid weather.
6. etc.
Those are a few general ones that occur at every school. A&T is really crunk though. You will enjoy it. Don't stick stictly to those peeps you come in with. There is so much more to this beautiful Univ. Too many organizations, and it looks as though you are going to be greek pretty soon. Greeks here are in full effect and get mad C.R.E.A.M. Trust, I know. F^CK what you heard, just bring your AGGIE PRIDE and you'll see what's going down.
Same with me I am from New York and I attend Morris College also. I ready to leave Sumter but I want to get my gpa up and pledge then transfer. Cau was my first choice and A&T was my second. Just like youngslim said there is nothing to do at morris. Morris is like being in high school again. Please inform me about A&T.
Awwwww.... it's great to see people excited about coming to join the AGGIE LAND FAMILIA. Now joe aggie made some good points... we get hatred from so many schools. But as they say "AGGIE PRIDE IS NATION WIDE". We hold our own. From the first time i spepped on to T's campus, i've felt nothing but luv.
Classes are what ur there for, and that's a given. We have some of the top departments/majors in NC. Coming with accredidations and new funding all the time. But what good is college life if u can't have some fun!?!? The fellas are great fun, we ladies are a fool too, the sports energy is SO HIGH, we all show luv to the band, the Greeks are all accounted for (minus the Rhos), The Gospel Choir (of which i am a part) is bangin, we have the 2 modeling companies, just overall I love being there.
