Last night, I watched on television, the future Illinois Senator Barack Obama speak at the Democratic National Convention. His speech was electrifying. I sat in awe at this african-american delivering the keynote address at the convention saying things that I completely agreed with. He moved the crowd tremendously, even bringing many to tears. After his speech, many people are now saying that he may one day be the first black President. His speech has now been called the highlight of the convention, and the speech that all others have to top. I certainly will be on the lookout for Barack Obama in the future.

Its wild because yesterday they were talking about how its almost a curse to be the keynote speaker at a convention. I hope he grows and does big things. This morning they were calling him the "Tiger Woods" of politics and were so stunned at how natural it was. Ok the first thing I was thinking was "Why can't black people do great things without everyone being so awestruck". I was happy to see a black guy who wasn't afraid to take the road less travelled and speak about issues that most wouldn't.

That guy almost made MY ass cry! That guy brings to the table what Jackson and Sharpton cant. He's up there with Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. He's well-spoken, his speeches are spine-tingling, and he just moves you when he speaks. On top of all that, he speaks the truth!!

I heard part of his speech on the radio today. Frank Skee played a clip of his speech and I was DAMN-NEAR brought to tears. The thing that was so affective about Barack Obama was that he didn't pick a side. He clearly said, "There isn't a Liberal America or a Conservative America, there is only the United States of America"

Normally I don't get all excited about patriotic slogans, but that man did a great job of showing that people shouldn't pick sides, they need to be focused on the country itself. I think he does the one thing that is necessary for any black politician in this day in age, He doesn't scare the White People

Sharpton, Jackson, Mfume, ALL of them are great leaders. But they galvanize support by strickly sticking to racial matters. What does Biff and Stacey out in Idaho cae about Jamall and Tyrone being profiled in L.A.??? Its' important to us, but we don't make up the majority of voters. Obama has the appeal to attract the white AND the balck voters, which is what really counts.

I was watching the Convention but I fell asleep just before Obama spoke and woke up after he was done so I missed his speech, however I went on CNN's website and read his whole speech and I must say his speech was VERY good and he did truly speak the truth. I do think his speech was up there with Clinton's speech from Monday night and I think if he keeps up the work he could indeed become the first black president of the United States. But I loved Teresa's speech and what she was talking about and what she stood for.
