I would personally say Howard University because I plan to go there to do my graduate studies in a couple of years and the school does represent HBCU's well, but it honestly depends on what program you are going for and your personality.

The impression I've gotten of Hampton is that it is a smaller school not so much center city where as Howard is in the heart of the city so if you really don't like city life, then maybe Hampton is better for you.

The main thing, however, is to check out which school has the best program that you plan to study, but I would say go to Howard; the first, the last and the only real HU (Who said that? )

I think you should go to Howard as well....and Im not just saying that because I'm going there in the fall

But seriously, the only advice I can offer you is to do research! Sooner or later, people are going to start throwing all these "facts" and accomplishments that both Howard and Hampton have achieved respectably, but when it comes to YOUR experience it won't and shouldn't make or break the school in any way. Both Howard and Hampton offer excellent programs of study so it's best to just check out the websites, do a campus visit, and talk to alumni and administration to determine where you would feel most comfortable. It would also be a good idea to make a list of priorities and qualities you look for in a school and then see which one comes out on top and take it from there. Basically it should come down to where you feel like you'll be getting the most out of the educational opportunity in front of you. Good luck, I hope everything works out!

I say HOWARD, and yes, it is because I attend this fine institution. I will be beginning my third year there and I can say I have NO regrets. Of course, each must do his or her own research and make his or her own decision, but I honestly think Howard would be a great choice. The opportunity here is endless.

Default Hampton

First I would just like to say thank you to all the Howard Bison. For
once, we can speak about an issue regarding Hampton and Howard
without dissing each other's school!

I go to Hampton, and I love the school. Hampton has provided me
with a rich experience in academic, cultural, spiritual and social life.
I know when I leave this place, like past graduates, I will be prepared
for whatever the world has to offer me.

Hampton has excellent programs such as Honors College, Leadership
Institute, Scipps-Howard School of Journalism, Nursing, 5 year MBA and
recently pharmacy. These are all in addition to the traditional
liberal arts and science programs the school offers.

Yes, it is not in a big urban city. Yet the campus is scenic. Hampton
sits on a penisula which blesses the campus with a waterfront.

I agree with the Bison though, visit the school because it is about what
is best for you! Regardless, whatever decision you make will be a good
one.

Be Blessed......Hampton University Class of 2005 ONYX VI

Personally I think you should GO TO HOWARD!!! I attend The Mecca and I have visited other schools. Howard is a real FAMILY and I love it! But of course you should make your own decision.... But since you asked, make the right choice and GO TO HOWARD!
