*Note, I have no experience in posting, so help me if I push the wrong button. Thanks Mr. Moss for your welcome. I was born in Runnemede, NJ in 1921. I Graduated from General Episcopal Seminary, class '56, in NYC. I was a Priest in Episcopal Churches in San JuanPR, Montclair NJ, YonkersNY, ElmsfordNY, PhilaPA, WashintonDC, and many etc. I now live in Recife, Brazil. I am interested in spreading the word to Black Women around HBCUs about a high risk disease called Systemic Lupus. In the States, I did so at Bowie, Howard, UDC, Vorhees, St. Aug, etc. Even at the HBCU's office in DC. an old timer there might remember me.
Wow, I don't know much about lupus. I talked to someone with it once, so I know just a little. I want to know more. Could you go to User CP and set up a new thread about it, or come back here and I can do the leg work for you.
It's quite an honor that you would take a minute of yours and share with us. We value your input and your presence.
And for the record, you hit the right buttons to get the word out!
Hello Joyce. Systemic Lupus Erythematosus is a hard name to pronounce, diagnose, understand, treat, and cope with. http://www.blackwomenshealth.org/site/News2?id=6688 says a lot. U talked to someone with it once<<< can you still contact that person? Many years ago I came to Birmingham to help Ms. Green set up their Lupus Foundation. I was a close friend to ex-Mayor Ford in Tuskegee. Is he still a State Representative? I also helped the Black Mayor of Pritchard, Al. I accept your suggestion to do the leg work. Will you go to User CP and set up a new thread about lupus. Your legs are in better shape than mine (smile).
Beginners luck>And, for the record, you hit the right buttons to get the word out! As a beautiful song says, I'm glad that you found me and I found you, too". Respectfully, Father Dingle
We got it up. Look under HBCU Ladies, you will see a thread entitled
Lupus: A condition silently affecting Women in the Black community, including the information you have already provided. Feel free to add to it, and you know some questions may arise that may not be answered on the site, so you have an open mic. It's been years since I talked to that lady. It was a brief encounter. But, I am going to check out the site myself, I don't know much at all about the topic. I may be the first one with questions.
